Samsung’s CEO DJ Koh has confirmed at a media event in Taiwan that the Galaxy Note 8 will be launching in late August, with the device going on sale in September.  Samsung will initially be making the Galaxy Note 8 available in the UK and US in September, with a wider launch in more regions by October. With an August unveiling and a September launch, Samsung will be able to make the Galaxy Note 8 available in some key markets before Apple unveils the iPhone 8 later in September. Reports had suggested that Samsung is looking to unveil the Galaxy Note in August, with the launch event now most likely occurring on August 23/26th in New York. Samsung, however, could also end up unveiling the Galaxy Note 8 on August 31st, just a day before IFA is scheduled to start in Berlin. Leaks point to the Galaxy Note 8 coming with a 6.3-inch QHD Infinity Display, an Exynos 8895/Snapdragon 835 chipset, 6GB RAM, and a dual-camera setup at the rear. It will be the first device from Samsung to sport a dual-camera setup at its rear and it will be interesting to see what approach the company takes with the setup. While Samsung wanted to embed the fingerprint scanner into the display of the Galaxy Note 8, it will not be able to do so due to technological issues. The handset will also come with a newer — and hopefully a usable — version of Bixby with support for additional languages.
