A senior Samsung executive has revealed to the press that the company has seen strong preorders for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge, which have been better than their expectations.  While Samsung’s mobile business president, Koh Dong-jin, did not reveal any exact figures during his briefing with the press, he did say that the Korean company expects its latest flagship handsets to revive its smartphone sales in China, where the company has been lagging behind Apple and other Chinese OEMs. A report from earlier this week had claimed that the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge pre-order numbers were lower than their predecessors in the company’s home market. Since Samsung does not release any pre-order or shipment numbers anymore, it is tough to say how the market response to the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge has been. The Galaxy S7 and S7 edge might look similar to their predecessors, but they pack in major upgrades in almost every department. The company has tweaked the design of the handsets to make them more ergonomic friendly, it has addressed the battery life issues of 2015 flagship handsets by fitting in beefy batteries on the S7 and S7 edge, and improved the camera performance further by switching to a new 12MP camera module. The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge go on sale in most markets of the world from March 11.
