You know how Samsung launches a flagship phone in the spring, a mini version of that same phone in the summer, and then a jumbo version in the fall? Looks like HTC is going to follow that same forumla. The 4.7 inch HTC One is already here, the 4.3 inch HTC One mini should be announced by the end of this month, and according to DigiTimes, the 5.9 inch One will be called the “One Max”.

What do we “know” about the One Max thus far? It’ll have almost everything the original One has, meaning front facing BoomSound speakers and an UltraPixel camera. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 will be under the hood, supposedly clocked at 2.3 GHz, and it’ll have a 3,300 mAh battery. When will HTC officially unveil the One Max? Your guess is as good as mine, but DigiTimes says Q3. I’m going to assume they mean the end of Q3, aka September. If this thing does indeed have a Snapdragon 800, then there’s a lot we don’t know about that chip. Yes, we have the full spec sheet, but is TSMC having any issues making it? Who will be given the first chips to come off the assembly line? Have operators certified the Snapdragon 800 since it has a newer modem? We’ll find out soon enough.
