Sources of Android Authority claim that Google will ditch the app drawer from Android N, which is scheduled to be released in late 2016. The publication has received this information from two different sources.
Google has revamped the app drawer with the release of Android 6.0 Marshmallow, where it replaced the horizontal paginated app drawer in favor of a vertically scrolling list. With Android N still in early stages of development, it is entirely possible that Google will re-introduce the app drawer with some minor tweaks and changes before officially unveiling it. However, as things stand right now, the current builds of Android N floating inside Google’s HQ don’t feature any app drawer. It is unclear what Google will be replacing the app drawer with: something entirely new and different or go for an iOS-inspired home screen and app drawer combination. Having an app drawer helps make it easier to keep the clutter of all your installed apps away from the home screen in my opinion, though it can be sometimes cumbersome to find your desired app from the app drawer.
