Both of these will help you expedite the setup process. If not, you will be prompted to set them up during the App Lock setup process.
Redmi Note 6 Pro: Lock Apps using Fingerprint Scanner
Step 1: MIUI comes with a Security app that offers App Lock feature apart from Security scan, Battery optimization and so on. Open the Security folder located on the home screen of on your Redmi Note 6 Pro. From there, select App Lock by scrolling down. Step 2: When you launch App Lock for the first time, it will ask you to set a pattern. It is recommended that you set this pattern different from the phone unlock pattern. This pattern can only be used to open App Lock. Once it is set, it will ask you to connect it with your Mi account. This is important as it can be used to reset App Lock in case you forget the pattern lock of App Lock. Past this, if you haven’t setup Phone Unlock security or Fingerprint, you will be asked to do so. Step 3: The next screen will offer a list of applications installed on your Redmi Note 6 Pro. By default, MIUI will automatically select a few recommended apps to be locked. However, you can un-select them and select the apps you’d like to lock. Just before you do that, MIUI will prompt you to use the fingerprint scanner to unlock applications. Tap on yes and then it will take you to Fingerprint Settings. Note: If you have registered multiple fingerprints, the locked applications can be unlocked with any of the registered fingerprints. Step 3: After this, you can further customize App Lock settings by tapping the cog icon located at the top-right corner. From there, you can change the following settings:
Change the lock settings i.e. apps are locked only after the device is locked or automatically after you exit them and after a minute of exit. Select whether all the locked apps are unlocked when you unlock one app. Hide the pattern that you are drawing on the screen for the pattern lock. Hide Notification content for apps.
MIUI also makes sure that the content of the locked apps is not visible during multitasking. This will make sure that nobody is able to sneak up on the private conversation or data.
