According to the information published in GizChina, TSMC would have started the process of 7nm in April, and they would already be testing with the first prototypes of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845. Its launch would be planned for early 2019, which fits us perfectly since it would come from the hand of the Samsung Galaxy S9 or the Xiaomi Mi 7, as it has already happened this year. However, if we notice then it is clear that Snapdragon 845 processors will be way smaller than 10nm processors, so, we can expect that both devices (Galaxy S9 and Mi 7) will be much thinner. This new 7nm processor would have between 25 and 35 percent more power compared to the Snapdragon 835, so we can expect great things from said SoC. We can not forget that the Snapdragon 835 is the most powerful processor till to the date, and the arrival of 845 implies 30% more power in just under a year. However, Qualcomm will not be the only company to manufacture this kind of processors. As NVIDIA and MediaTek would also join 7nm, so we may have enough surprises this 2019, especially from China.
