The relatively minor OxygenOS update was rolled out with the aim of fixing bugs and updating the security patch on the handsets to a slightly newer build. However, it seems to have ended up introducing a major battery draining bug as OnePlus forums are now filled with complaints from OnePlus 3/5 owners about poor battery life....
