Oppo Reno Ace: Design and Display

The Reno Ace flaunts a gradient-finish design language found on most of the smartphones these days and comes in two color options: Blue and Violet. It features a 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio, 2400×1080 pixels screen resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and a waterdrop notch to house the camera.

At its core, the phone has a 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus processor with Adreno 640 GPU running under the hood, paired with 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage. To power everything, it has a 4000mAh battery with 65W Super VOOC 2.0 fast charging technology, which is by far the fastest on a smartphone yet. For connectivity, it has dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac, and Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5mm audio jack, USB Type-C, and NFC. Furthermore, the phone also includes an in-display fingerprint scanner, Dolby Audio, stereo speakers, and more. On the software front, the Reno Ace runs on ColorOS 6, which introduces a bunch of additional features like Hyper Boost, Game Assistant, etc. Besides, it also comes with TurboBoost 2.0 and FrameBoost 2.0 to offer better and improved performance.

In terms of optics, the Reno Ace sports a quad-camera setup on the rear, which includes a 48MP Sony IMX586 primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture, 0.8um pixel size, PDAF, OIS, and EIS, a 13MP telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture, an 8MP 116-degree ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro lens. Towards the front, it has a 16MP front-facing camera for selfies.

The Reno Ace comes in three configurations: 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB, and 12GB+256GB, priced at 3199 yuan (~USD449 / Rs 31,949), 3399 yuan (~USD 477 / Rs 33,951), and 3799 yuan (~USD 533 / Rs 37,946) respectively.
