After confirming the presence of speedy UFS 3.0 NAND, OnePlus has now confirmed that the OnePlus 7 Pro display will support HDR10+. OnePlus has been hyping up the display of the OnePlus 7 Pro and leaks point to the device coming with a 6.7-inch QHD+ AMOLED panel with 90Hz refresh rate.
Display Mate has already given the OnePlus 7 Pro’s display an A+ rating, the same as the Galaxy S10 series. OnePlus confirmed that it has also worked with Netflix and YouTube to ensure that they stream HDR10 content on the OnePlus 7 Pro whenever available. HDR10 support means the OnePlus 7 Pro display will show more and better colors with higher dynamic range when compared to regular content. The benefit will especially be noticeable in darker scenes. Right now, the Galaxy S10, Galaxy Note 9, and Galaxy S9 series are the only smartphones in the market to ship with HDR1o support. With the strong focus on display, it looks like the OnePlus 7 Pro will genuinely have a display that will rival the likes of Samsung and iPhones. Up until now, OnePlus has been content launching ‘flagship killers’ at a price point lower than other flagships with a few compromises. With the OnePlus 7 Pro, the company is making the jump to the flagship territory and taking on the big guns from Samsung and Apple. The OnePlus 7 series is scheduled to be unveiled on May 14.
