At this point, its no secret that OnePlus will be unveiling a ‘T’ variant of the OnePlus 5, the OnePlkus 5T. While the last year’s ‘T’ upgrade was all about modest internal spec bump, OnePlus is taking a slightly different approach with the OnePlus 5T this year.
The handset will sport a bezel-less 18:9 aspect ratio display at the front similar to many other flagship Android devices. And thanks to @evleaks, we are now getting a glimpse of this design. The leaker has posted a picture of the top half of the OnePlus 5T which shows off its thin bezels and rounded corners. OnePlus is expected to make use of a 5.99-inch 18:9 FHD+ OLED panel on the 5T sourced from Samsung. As evident from the press render, the device will have small top and bottom bezels similar to what we have seen on the likes of the Galaxy S8 and LG V30 and unlike the Mi Mix 2 and iPhone X.
— Evan Blass (@evleaks) October 30, 2017 While there were rumors of the OnePlus 5T featuring a dual-camera setup at the front, the press render only shows one selfie camera. For what its worth, the 5T is going to be all about the bezel-less display at the front. The internals of the device is expected to remain the same, with only the primary rear shooter getting a possible spec upgrade to a wider aperture or OIS for improved performance. OnePlus is expected to unveil the OnePlus 5T in mid-November. The company has already discontinued selling the OnePlus 5 in most of the major markets of the world. When the 5T does launch, it will end up being priced similar to the 5, though there is always a possibility that OnePlus could take this opportunity to further increase the price of the handset by a small margin. Are you looking forward to the OnePlus 5T? Or as a OnePlus 5 owner, you are bummed that your handset has been replaced so soon?
