With the whole world eagerly waiting for OnePlus to unveiling the OnePlus 5 later this week, the company has gone ahead and already given a glimpse of the handset to television viewers. Taking advantage of the India vs Pakistan cricket match final happening in The Oval, London right now, OnePlus ran a teaser video of the OnePlus 5 launch later this week and gave a preview of the design of the handset at the end.
An India vs Pakistan match especially at the final of a major tournament like Champions Trophy garners millions of viewers so the move to reveal the design of the OnePlus 5 during the match was a pretty smart one from OnePlus. The company already has a huge fan following in the country and giving Indian viewers an early look at its upcoming flagship killer will only earn it brownie points from them. If you were hoping that the leaks surrounding the OnePlus 5 were wrong, prepare to be disappointed. The handset looks very similar to the OnePlus 3 from the front, but at the rear with a dual-camera setup, the handset’s design is reminiscent of the iPhone 7 Plus. The OnePlus 5 has already been confirmed to come with a Snapdragon 835 chipset, 6/8GB RAM, a dual camera setup, 64/128GB of storage, and a 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED storage. OnePlus will be unveiling the OnePlus 5 for the international market on June 20th, with the Indian launch for the handset being held on June 22nd.
